On open platforms donations can be made by any visitor, with or without an account, by going to the crowdfunding page and clicking on the button 'Donate'.
On closed platforms donations can be made by anyone with access to the platform, by going to the crowdfunding page and clicking on the button 'Donate'.
After filling out the amount they want to donate, the supporter will be sent to the payment menu. Here they can choose different payment methods: iDeal, Credit Card transaction or a One-time authorisation, depending on the platform settings.
Confirmation emails will be sent automatically to the user who donated and to the initiator. The amount will be added to the crowdfunding bar and a donate message is shown on the initiative update wall.
Donations for global campaigns
When donating to a global campaign, current conversion rates need to be taken into account.
Donate anonymously
It is possible to donate anonymously on every platform. Select the checkbox 'Hide my name for this donation'.
The amount will be added up to the crowdfunding bar and an anonymous donate message is shown on the project wall.
Donate a reward
Some initiatives give supporters a gift in return or show what will be done with their donation.
Click on the gift itself or on the 'Donate' button, to select the (symbolic) gift.
Note that depending on the platform settings, users who are not logged in or who donate anonymously are (not) able to select or receive gifts.
