In line with the GDPR, we have updated our cookies settings. Users have complete flexibility in setting their cookie preferences.
Cookie bar
When visiting the platform for the first time, visitors will see a cookie bar and can decide whether they wish to accept all cookies at once or specify their cookie preferences.
Note: Functional cookies can not be disabled because these are required for us to run and maintain the platform.
When users instead choose to close the cookie bar by clicking on the 'x' at the top right instead, we will on default only the functional cookies will be set and visitors will be warned when they try to perform an action that requires other cookies to be set (see 'Updating Cookies' below for more information).
Select cookies
If someone wishes to update their cookie preferences, they can do so via the cookies pop-up. Here we inform users on the type of cookies and the functionality of them. If a user wants to edit their cookie preferences, they can do so by clicking the 'Your cookie settings' link in the footer or via the users account page when logged in.
Note: If someone doesn't give GoodUp permission to use cookies, we unfortunately won't be able to delete third party cookies. We will, however, make sure that these third parties can't track users on the platform anymore, by blocking all requests from these third parties.
If someone wishes to delete cookies from third parties (YouTube or Facebook for example) they can do so by updating their cookie preferences via their browser settings.
Updating Cookies
If someone has disabled cookies and then attempts to perform an action on our platform that does require those cookies, a pop-up will appear. This happens when they try to watch a project video or login with Facebook for example.
The pop-up will inform the user that their settings don't allow them to perform that action and that they should either update their cookie preferences or discard their action.
